Therapy

“Everything that is ‘wrong’ with you began as a survival mechanism”

— Gabor Maté

My approach

When our bodies are in pain, it is because something needs attention. The same is true for our emotions and soul. Whatever struggle, pain or yearning may bring you here, therapy is a space where you will be deeply listened to and supported, as you make your journey towards more ease and a more fulfilled, joyful life.

It can be confusing to navigate the various modalities and orientations of therapy on offer. Some are more person-centred, i.e. guided by you, others are more practitioner-led. Some are more focused on what happened in the past, some on the here-and-now, and yet others are more future-oriented.

As an Integrative Transpersonal Therapist I use a blended, creative approach combining these different orientations to match your needs. My practice is shaped by my experience working in social justice and environmental change across the world, meaning I give attention to the connection between personal wellbeing and the wider systems we are all part of.

I balance a warm receptiveness with rigorous reflection and gentle challenge, drawing on my experience working with a variety of therapeutic approaches.

Ultimately, the attentiveness, compassion and fresh perspectives I offer you in therapy will become things you learn to do for yourself. As you come into a better relationship with yourself, you can gain greater wellbeing, balance, authenticity, meaning, creativity and capacity to weather the storms in your life and the world.
