Practical Information

Location (in-person sessions)

My practice is located on Queen’s Park Road in Brighton, a short walk or bus ride from the city centre. Visitor parking is available in the neighbourhood. There are a few steps between the street level and the premises on which the consulting room is located.

Online sessions

Online sessions take place on Zoom, a well-protected online video calling platform, and work well for many people. You will need to ensure access to a private, confidential space with good internet speed.

Fees

My fees are £60 per 50-minute session. I have a few slots at concessionary rates. Reduced rates are agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Initial consultation

To answer any questions, and give you the opportunity to see how you feel about working together, I offer an initial 20-minute consultation free of charge. This can take place either via phone or Zoom video call. To arrange an initial consultation, please get in touch.

First session

Our first full, 50-minute session will be a chance for you to tell me about yourself and what you would like to get out of therapy, to get to know me and ask questions. This will help you decide if we are a good match and from there, we can agree to work together in an open-ended way or within an agreed timeframe.

Duration of therapy

We may agree in our first session to work in an open-ended way or agree a timeframe. This decision will be led by you, and regularly reviewed between us.

Working hours and session times

I offer sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during business hours and have some evening slots. Usually, we will agree and keep to a regular, weekly time for our sessions. Some clients have flexible arrangements due to irregular working hours and we can discuss if and how this might work for you.

Data protection and confidentiality

Our work is confidential. I manage your data in line with GDPR regulations. Details about how I gather, transfer, storage and process personal information are outlined in my GDPR statement.

Ethical standards and insurance

I hold professional indemnity insurance. I am a clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and practice under their respective codes of ethics.
